Your final exam will be on Wednesday at 9 am. Section 11AB will take their exam in my room; Section 11CD will take their final in room 403 (Mr. Whelton's room); students who are granted extended time will take their final in room 705.
Your final exam will include the following sections from the Regents exam:
*Reading comprehension (two non-fiction passages and 12 multiple choice questions)
*Literature analysis (two works of literature and 5 multiple choice questions)
*Question 26 (paragraph response that articulates a controlling idea about BOTH literature passages)
*Question 27 (paragraph response that explains how a literary element is used in ONE literature passage)
*Question 28 (critical lens essay)
You will also be required to write the checklists for Question 26, Question 27, and the critical lens essay. You do not need to re-write the checklist word for word, but you must include all steps. Use the resources below to review the checklists before the exam because you will not be allowed to refer to any notes during the test. Note that WRITING THINGS OUT WILL HELP YOU RETAIN THE INFORMATION BETTER THAN SIMPLY READING THEM.
You should also use your literature review sheets and share them before the exam so your memories of 4-5 works of literature will be fresh for the test. Proctors will not be allowed to give you names of books, authors, or characters, and you may not use notes for the critical lens essay.
Final Study Materials:
On the final, you will need to write out checklists for #26 and #27 and use them to complete those tasks:
Checklist and Sentence Starters for #26
Checklist and Sentence Starters #27
Marker Verbs and Transitions
Critical Lens Checklist and Samples
Literary Terms
