Intro: Both Obama and Trump gave speeches in the wake of a tragedy in order to unite and comfort our nation. However, their messages and strategies differed. Based on your exit tickets and our interpretations, their purposes include the following.
Task:
- Read the purposes of each speech listed below. Read them more than once.
- Choose one of the listed purposes to support with evidence from a speech.
- Rewatch or read the speech again. Find six pieces of evidence from the speech that best supports the purpose you chose below.
- Make sure to choose two quotes from the beginning, two quotes from the middle and two quotes from the end of the speech to support your chosen purpose.
