Here is how the post will be graded:
Main Idea:
Clearly stated claim or idea
Main idea focuses on one or two specific and interesting aspect of the texts.
Examples:
Chosen examples strongly support the main idea or claim.
Chosen examples are short and direct, leaving out unneeded information.
Your piece references several good examples from the texts
Connection to our world:
It is clear why this idea should matter to your readers.
Language and style:
The language you use reflects an attempt to engage the reader.
Your piece has smooth transitions at appropriate places.
Your piece is free of distracting errors.
Structure:
Your piece is organized into one to three paragraphs.
Your piece is between 300-400 words.

AP Language
1. Read over the rubric and models for the argument essay you got back in class today: Click Here. Note how the writers develop their theses and examples at various levels.
2. Complete the speed dating handout (again) with more relevant examples and thesis statements that clearly address the prompts. This will be entered as a writing grade. I encourage you to use examples from texts we have read in class, your history content, and other SPECIFIC examples.
3. Write an introduction and one body paragraph for prompt #3 to turn in on Monday. Please write it on looseleaf.

4. I forgot to collect your examples of figurative language today but will do so next week.
