Seniors - Complete and improve your presentations on "Bloodchild" by Monday.

Extra Credit: Read the short story, "The Hand" by Collette and answer the accompanying questions. Students who complete the assignment will get extra credit in reading comprehension and completion: Link to extra credit

AP Language --Blog Post Due Sunday by 9:00 pm. Late posts will have 10% subtracted.

Assignment: Read through the list of questions below that will focus our reading and discussion throughout our unit on rebellion and conformity.

• What are the conditions of conformity or rebellion? 
• What does the individual lose or gain through rebelling or conforming? 
• What kind of language do speakers use to describe conformity and rebellion? 
• How does a speaker's identity, including his/her position in society affect the stakes of his/her rebellion? 

Then, choose one and write a blog post that discusses how two of the authors we have read address the question through their work. Use excerpts from Black Boy, Fun Home, and "Common Sense" to support your answer. If you want to rebel, choose a different text, preferably one that at least several students will recognize.
