Homework, Friday, January 22

-Seniors -
Work on your creative writing piece over the weekend.

Announcement! I will be available on Monday during lunch and Tuesday after school for students to make up missing work.

-AP Language -

1. Finish the close reading work we started in class today on chapter 4. In other words, reread the last third of the chapter, noting the most powerful lines. When you are done, look over your notes from class today and consider how Douglass develops the argument that black lives do not matter within the perverse system of slavery as depicted in the chapter.

For extra credit: post a response on chapter 4 on the class blog. You may develop the ideas we discussed in class today or bring something new into the conversation.

2. Read chapters 5-6 from The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass.  Make a hashtag for each chapter and be ready to explain it. There may also be a quiz on these chapters, so read carefully.

Announcement! I will be available on Monday during lunch and Tuesday after school for students to make up missing work.

Announcement! If you misplace your book, the narrative is available in its entirety online: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/23/23-h/23-h.htm
