Seniors
(Re)read Scenes 3 and 4 of Act I tonight and answer the following questions in your notebook:
1. Continue to collect evidence for your STEAL chart of three of the four characters: Stanley, Stella, Blanch, Mitch.
2. What kinds of power do the characters have on each other and in the world? Consider physical power, institutional power, economic power, social power, intellectual power, and psychological power.
3. Act 4 is a conversation between Stella and Blanche. Describe how they contrast in their attitudes toward Stanley? Choose two quotations for each of them that BEST express their respective attitudes.
4. As a reader, do you find Stella or Blanche more sympathetic in this scene? Why?
