REMINDER! MARINA ABROMOVIC EDUCATIONAL SESSION TODAY AT LUNCH FOR SECTIONS 11D, 11A and 12CD.

WHERE ARE YOU IN YOUR GOTHIC AND HORROR PROJECT?

Stage 1 - I have no idea or a vague idea of what to say about the texts. I need to revise, edit or create my processing page.

1. Read over the assignment here: Assignment. If the options don't resonate with you, you may want to focus on comparing and contrasting the protagonists of two stories/novels.

2. Begin/revise your processing page comparing two texts using STEAL, the functions of setting and the functions of characterization (see charts). For strong examples of processing pages, click here: Processing Page, page 1Processing Page, Page 2: Synthesis
>

Stage 2- I have my processing page and I have a general idea that I want to express on the two texts. I am ready to write my claim and begin outlining.
See example claims and templates here: Claim and outlining page

> If students have a claim, they need to get it approved by you before beginning their claim writing.
>
> Group 3 - I have my claim and I need to outline and find my evidence. You should use the examples that I gave youfrom the previous unit to create their topic sentences. The link is in the proposal and outline link.
Group 4: My outline is complete and I'm ready to start drafting. Seniors who are not writing papers: The next step is to create a plan for how you will draft. For example, will you write a script, draw a blueprint, etc. Get your plan approved before you start drafting. If you need to wait for Ms. C to make your next move, you may read quietly.
