Finish the novel Flight by Monday, Nov. 21. Make sure you can discuss the following information:
-What information does Zits learn about his father when he inhabits his mind and body? What memory does Alexie devote an entire chapter to exploring?
-How do Zits' words, actions, and thoughts differ in the final chapters of the novel than they did in the beginning? Find two specific contrasts in characterization from ch. 1-3 and 19-21
-Would you call the ending optimistic or pessimistic? How does it help shape the overall message about how people become more or less moral?
-Consider the motif you tracked throughout the novel -- personal and political violence, intimacy and love, revenge, fathers and sons, or scars and blemishes. How can you reflect on that motif to make a statement on the novel's ultimate meaning?
