Tonight, CHOOSE the topic and plot of the creative writing piece you're going to spend the next two weeks on. You need to know the following information by the time you come to class tomorrow.
-Who is the narrator of your creative writing piece? Age/gender/appearance etc.
-What is the external conflict?
-Who are the other characters in the piece? Age/gender/ethnicity/appearance etc.
-What is the setting of your piece? (Time period, location, social atmosphere etc)

Tonight, choose a show that you watch regularly and analyze one of the characters, using your notes and all the resources I provided today. Track STEAL. Then, based on the evidence in your STEAL chart, determine the characters most dominant traits. Finally, consider the function or purpose of the character on the show. Again, use your notes from class today, including the specific literary/rhetorical vocabulary I shared.
