Do the Right Thing: Mini-Poster - Representations of Good and Evil, DUE Friday, Sept. 12
POSTER OF visual and textual images that demonstrate where we currently see good and evil in the world due tomorrow!! For the purposes of this assignment, don’t limit yourself to things you are sure about. Instead, use your emotional responses as a guide. What repels you? Where do you see evil deeds or motives at play? What do people say or do that make you want to scream because they are just SO WRONG? Conversely, what images strikes you as “good,” “heroic” or “beautiful?” Where do words and images appear that motivate you towards actions and states of mind that are positive and/or “good?”
As you create this collage, consider what you would like to learn more about in this unit as well as what strikes you as particular thought provoking or personally relevant?
Your poster/display must include four out of the six types of sources in order to receive full credit:
- At least two images each for good and evil
- Find at least one quotation or poem about good and evil that you generally agree with and include it on your mini-poster
- Multiple headlines from the news for each category
- Idioms or expressions about good and evil
- A work of art
- A famous person, fictional character, or historical figure who embodies good or evil
