Do the Right Thing

Outline and Plan for In-Class Writing Assignment Tomorrow

*Juniors will receive a grade for writing a clear claim and work habits. 

*Seniors, you will be graded on: 

-Claim
-Use of Marker Verbs: click here
-Evidence 
-Analytic Paragraph checklist: click here

I suggest printing resources from the "Essay Resources" section of the blog or copying them into a section of your notebook that you can use throughout the year. (Feel free to use Ms. McGinnis's wiki if you are familiar with the resources from there that you used last year.) 

AP Language 

1. Choose a debate that interests you from the Room for Debate page on the New York Times website : http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate
2. Write down the title of the debate and read all of the experts' arguments on that issue. 
3. Write a paragraph that asserts which argument is the strongest and why.
