Friday, Jan. 16

Ms. Candlin is out sick today. Here is what each class should be doing in class and for homework. Email me with any questions: jcandlin@sof.edu
12AB:  
1. Watch TED Talk, "The Politics of Fiction." Please help the substitute operate the video if necessary. It is set up on the projector. You can also watch it by clicking on this link: "The Politics of Fiction"
2. Share short story generating you did for homework: Handout for generating ideas 
HOMEWORK: Write at least two pages in your notebook in response to one of the prompts or another idea you have for a short fiction story.   Yes, that means an additional two pages to those you wrote last night.
11AB:
1. Substitute passes out the packet of "Walden," excerpt one with questions. Students should work on the packet during the period and finish it for homework. They may work in partnerships.  
HOMEWORK: 1. Finish packet
                          2. sign up for Saturday session on Feb. 7 https://www.eventbrite.com/e/apex-student-study-session-2-museum-school-manhattan-english-language-and-literature-tickets-14817648987
                          3. If you did not complete your blog posts over winter break, you may post them for up to 70%. They will still be graded according to the assignment description.
