AP Language - Review the examples from the last essay here, including the suggested structure for writing an on-demand
*On-demand tomorrow. I will hold you to a particular schedule tomorrow: reading, planning, writing, proofreading. Review various types of figurative language and the effects of rhetorical devices tonight. Also, remember these steps for interpreting figurative language: paraphrase, discuss what is being compared, discuss what is implied.
*In preparation for the midterm, you should be reviewing and MEMORIZING if necessary some of the resources I've given you, including the diction and syntax handout, especially the effects, marker verbs, tone words, and various types of figurative language. All handouts can be found on the "AP Page." We will go over the midterm on Monday.
Do the Right Thing - One page short story due in class tomorrow, typed. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FOUR COPIES FOR WORKSHOP. Use Amy Tan's "Fish Cheeks" as a model of sentence variation and sensory imagery.
Optional Prompt: Write a short story that is 26 sentences long. Each sentence must begin with a consecutive letter of the alphabet.
