Monday, Jan. 26

AP Language:
1.) Review the key and explanations for the multiple choice we did in class
2.) Review for the midterm: make a "cheat sheet," even though you won't be able to use it on the exam. It will help you prepare and remember key information. You may want to include the structure for rhetorical analysis that I posted on Thursday night, lists of figurative language, tone words, effects of rhetorical devices etc.
3.) Make sure your précis paragraphs are up to date and on one document, titled LastnameFirstnameBibliography. Share it with me.

Do the Right Thing
1.) Review key terms and resources as posted on the weekend blog post: Midterm Review Sheet

2.) Prepare for midterm by making Literature Review Cards if you haven't done so yet. You should make one for each text you want to write about in the comparative essay part of the midterm. Questions are on page two of the "Midterm Review Sheet."

3.) Draft paragraphs if you want me to take a look at them tomorrow and tell you what you need to make sure to include on the exam. Please use the resources below:

4.) Draft a claim and arguments for the comparative essay part of the exam. You may want to focus on one of the following topics:
A. Representations of femininity or masculinity in Flight and A Streetcar Named Desire (or a book club book)
B. Portrayals of evil in “Escape from Spiderhead,” Flight, or A Streetcar Named Desire (or a book club book)

*SENIORS MAY USE A SHORT STORY OF THEIR CHOOSING. JUNIORS MUST USE TWO NOVELS OR A PLAY.
