Announcements and Exhibition Week Homework

AP Language and Composition -

HOMEWORK - Over the course of the next week, you need to read the book you took last week, take notes as you read, and compose two blog posts. Please see the AP blog for details: http://aplanguagepower.blogspot.com/ The first commentary is due by Wednesday (tomorrow) at midnight. The second one is due Sunday by midnight. A week from today, you will have a quiz on the book you're reading. It's crucial that you are reading and thinking critically about your reading; remember that most of the kids who are also taking the AP test are in classes this week.

Announcements: AP SATURDAY SESSION, IS THIS WEEK, FEB. 7 at THE MUSEUM SCHOOL!!!! The Museum School: 333 W 17th St, between 8th and 9th Avenue. Registration starts at 8:30, class starts at 9:00 and the day ends at 3:00. Granola bars in the morning and lunch provided. See you there:) If you didn't come last time, print out this permission slip and bring it with you on Saturday: Click Here. If you did not register, you should come anyway. My educated guess is that all of the kids who registered will not show up.

Midterm:
1. If you would like to look at the model rhetorical analyses with scores: click here
2. Multiple choice answers and rationale: click here
3. Take the weekend to relax. On Monday, I will post the reading homework.

Do the Right Thing -

1. Optional - Start the second semester strong by reading a novel next week. If you don't have one, come and get one from me during exhibition week.

2. BRING ME MY BOOKS! Many of you have books from my classroom that I need back: look for copies of Streetcar, Flight, Drown, Less Than Zero etc. I will give one organic lollipop for each book returned.
