Homework, Tuesday October 11

-Seniors-

Write a page about the way you learned how to "do the right thing." What experiences, texts, and words of wisdom shaped your vision of what it means to be good or bad.

AP Language:
Please read the instructions carefully.

1. If you were out for a soccer game, get in touch with someone who was present in class to explain the charts and example at this link to you: Pump Up Your Arguments Using Peeps and Example Outline. Sarah and Octavia said they are happy to help people. I am sure other classmates will be able to help as well.

2. All students, complete the writing assignment for for the diversity module on a google doc by 9:00 pm Thursday. This should not take hours. If you were in class yesterday and wrote an outline, you should be able to finish in an hour at most. If you were out yesterday, spend 90 minutes on the assignment. Five paragraphs is plenty.

Here is the prompt:

Intro: Like many schools, SOF aims to help their students benefit from learning in a diverse community. However, as we learned from various sources last week, diversity also presents a unique set of challenges.

Prompt: Compose a letter to our administration proposing a program that would help middle and high school students address the challenges and promote the benefits of working in diverse groups. If you do not think that a program focusing on diversity would be beneficial, explain your reasoning for why our school should not adopt such a program. Synthesize at least two of the sources and feel free to include additional evidence, such as outside research, personal experience, historical or current events, and literature to develop your claim and reasons. This is a letter, and should not be more than two pages.

3. Go to the form at the end of the instructions, answer the questions and PASTE YOUR LETTER INTO THE SPACE INDICATED FOR THE LONG WRITE. This is how you will submit your assignment. Link to form: Submit Letter and Reflect
