Homework, Friday, October 15

1. Join our class on Edpuzzle. If you do not have an account, you can visit this link and sign up: https://edpuzzle.com/join/apotaag. If you already have an account, enter this tag: apotaag.

2. Take a look at the handout I gave you as a guide https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kA_7bYgq4JIBhhCupIF5V92dwSzidPhVdPAHLHwYqiQ/edit. Jot down questions and terms you need to take notes on.

3. Watch the rest of the Zimbardo's fascinating lecture on EdPuzzle*. You will have an open note quiz on Monday. You should have access to the lecture on your edpuzzle account, but just in case, click here: Link to Lecture

*12 A, you will need to watch the entire thing. Please note that some of the material is disturbing. The video will let you know when the disturbing images are shown. Feel free to skip that part.

1. Review your class notes on Ethos.

2. Join our class on EdPuzzle by entering the code somiced. 

3. Watch and read the remainder of John McCain's 2008 speech (Part II) accepting his nomination as the Republican nominee for President. As you view and read the speech, consider and annotate how McCain develops ethos until the end of the speech. If you cannot find your copy of the speech, you can find one here: Speech

4. Then, reread the speech and look through your annotations. Which five lines or paragraphs most effectively establish and develop his ethos? (If it is a paragraph, paraphrase it. If it is a line, include the quotation.)

5. Finally, RANK your evidence from one to five. Which is the most effective line or section of the text in terms of establishing and developing ethos? Which comes next? Be ready to share your evidence and rankings on Monday. There may be a quiz.
