Here is the summary for the missing chapter:
Richis orders his servants to pack "clothes and provisions" since he will be leaving with his daughter in the morning (205). All of the servants are rushing around to get everything in order. They leave at eight o'clock and everyone in the town watches them leave. The townsfolk heard that Richis and his daughter will be going to Grenoble; however, Richis is only pretending to go to that village. In the middle of their journey, Richis stops and sends half of his men to Grenoble while he and his daughter go to Cabris. Richis hopes to meet with Bouyon to make him an offer in exchange for Laura. Since the 'murderer' only wants virgins, Richis knows that he has to marry Laura to Bouyon to protect her life.
