Do the Right Thing: Share a google doc with me that includes your claim, topic sentences, and evidence (at least two pieces of evidence for each topic sentence) by 5:00 pm on Monday. Use the following resources to help you: Topic Sentences and Claim Progression.
Once you are finished with your outline, start drafting your analysis. Here is a sample of a rough draft and revised analysis to help you: Anaylsis
AP Language:
1. Based on the ad analyses you turned in on Thursday, we need to continue to work on identifying and analyzing appeals to ethos, logos, and pathos. Before you start working on your ad, review the techniques in this handout. Add new examples to the triangle we made in class. I know this might feel repetitive, but in general, we are just scratching the surface of the appeals and you need to go deeper to understand them. When you complete your ad on Tuesday, you will do a reflection on how you used the appeals to construct your advertisement.
2. Design and complete your ad so that it is ready to display in class on Tuesday. Here are the guidelines. It will be assessed based in part on this rubric: ad rubric, but more importantly, on a processing piece you will complete in class which will describe how you strategically appeal to your audience through pathos, ethos, and logos.
3. Present your ad as a commercial or a print/online ad like the ones we looked at together in class.
