Weekend Homework

Do the Right Thing --

Seniors: 1. Bring in two texts we've read so far this year: Flight, "Escape from Spiderhead," "Until Gwen," Feed,  "The Lottery," or "The Veldt" and re-read it with the questions of the new unit in mind (. On Monday, have at least five pieces of evidence that speak to one of the EQ's of the unit. Click here for EQs

* If you have not turned in your paper, you should still submit it for partial credit.

Juniors: Bring in two of the stories we've read this year to reread on Monday (See list above).

AP Language: Consider the essays we read this week. Choose one to analyze and write a rhetorical analysis. Make sure you have a thesis that includes what the writer is saying about her chosen topic, such as death (Dunham), time (White), reading (Satrapi), writing (Wright), or family (Sotomayor) and analysis of the rhetorical devices employed. Use the scaffolds I distributed in the class this week (click here for resources), as well as the exemplars (Sample Essays). Essays must be typed, double-spaced and printed before class. Essays should be around 600 words.
