2.) Collect evidence for your paper from the beginning, middle, and end of the story or the play. Come in with a minimum of six pieces of evidence. Eventually, you will need a total of 10-12 pieces of evidence so you may want to spend tonight looking for evidence related to one of the characters you will be discussing in your paper. Of course, you are welcome to work ahead and find all of your evidence tonight. Regardless, tonight is your night to reread/re-skim the story or play.

The first white Americans fled Europe's aristocracy, and people from all over the world continue to come to America with the goal of transcending the social circumstances in which they were born. Many of us aim for upward mobility, the capacity to strive towards a higher social and economic position. But what determines our ability to do so? Is it our intelligence? Or is it where we live? Today you'll watch a documentary that presents a fascinating perspective.
